Sasol and ChevronTexaco look to Algerian GTL build

SOUTH AFRICA'S Sasol and its US partner ChevronTexaco have bid to build a 34 000 bbl/ day gas-to-liquids(GTL)plant in Algeria,Sasol said last week.Algerian state oil and gas firm Sonatrach is looking to build a GTL plant at Arzew using potential gas reserves in the Tin-rhert area.'Sasol and Chevron submitted a non-binding technical proposal at the end of September 2005,' said Sasol."The Algerian authorities have set the middle of 2006 as the date for commercial submissions,' it added.The development is part of a raft of petrochemical investments planned by Sonatrach for Arzew and Skikda(ECN27June).
