Hurricane Emily weakens,but still poses a threat

New York-Hurricane Emily significantly weakened July 18 after slamming into Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula,but the storm still held out the threat of regaining some of its potency over the next several days before again reaching landfall in northern Mexico.While most of the US Gulf Coast's refinery alley appeared safe from the storm,the southernmost part of that area,Corpus Christi,was still potentially within Emily's range.
