Badlands Revises Planned PE Project; Licenses Univation's Unipol Process

Denver—Badlands NGLs has licensed Univation Technologies' Unipol PE (polyethylene) process for four PE reactor lines, with a total capacity of 2.4-million t/y, to be split between its two sites in North America (PCN, 28 Sept 2015, p 1). The facilities, one which is located in North Dakota and the other at a yet to be named location, will each have two world-scale 600,000-t/y PE reactor lines. The production lines will utilize Univation's LLDPE (linear low-density PE) and HDPE (high-density PE) catalysts including the Prodigy bi-modal HDPE, Acclaim unimodal HDPE and XCAT metallo-cene LLDPE catalysts.
