Sabuco Awards Contract to Daelim For Construction of Butanol Plant

Jubail—Saudi Butanol Co. (Sabuco) has awarded Daelim a contract for construction of the world's largest butanol plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia (PCN, 1 July 2013, p 1). Sabuco, a joint venture of Saudi Basic Industries Corp. affiliate Saudi Kayan; Saudi Acrylic Acid Co., and the Sa-dara Chemical venture of Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical, is building a project to produce 330,000 t/y of n-butanol and 11,000 t/y of iso-butanol.
