Old Ocean— Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. is expanding ethylene production by 200-million lbs/yr with the addition of a tenth furnace to ethylene unit 33 at its Sweeny complex in Old Ocean, Texas. The company recently received clearance from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to begin construction on the project. Production is anticipated to begin in 2014.
