Suncor Bucks Trend With Capital Spending Increase

Canada's Suncor Energy plans to buck the industry trend and increase its capital spending next year, despite the ongoing slump in oil prices. Suncor said it expects to spend between C $6.7 billion and C$7.3 billion (US$5 billion to US$5.5 billion) in 2016, compared with its most recent capex guidance for this year of C $5.8 billion to C$6.4 billion.
