Oil Sands Giant Suncor Increases Capital Spending

Suncor Energy has unveiled plans to increase its capital spending next year. The Canadian oil sands giant says it has a strong balance sheet, which allows it to press ahead with investment projects despite the recent steep drop in oil prices. The Calgary-based company said it expects to spend between C$7.2 billion (US$6.3 billion) and C$7.8 billion in 2015, compared with C $6.8 billion this year.
