One family-run North Yorkshire firm has come up with an ingenious answer to quality control on the production line. Catterick-based Addington Engineers has answered appeals for help from pharmaceutical giants GlaxoSmithKlein and motor manufacturers BMW in the past. But the latest challenge, this time from the catering industry, needed some food for thought. A Yorkshire-based bakers, who supply supermarkets nationwide with doughnuts, wanted to replace their manual method of inspection with a more advanced and fail safe approach to getting their goodies onto the shelves in tip-top condition.
