FDA's Taylor talks FSMA timeline, inspection fees with FCN

Especially since the passage of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, getting on the schedule of the most influential person in United States food regulation is no easy task. If FDA Deputy Commissioner for Foods Michael Taylor is not making a speech at one of the industry conferences or flying to China to address concerned foreign food officials, he's most likely in high-level discussions with staff about implementation of FSMA's produce safety or preventive control rules.So when the FDA responded to our request to sit down with Taylor in his office at FDA's White Oak, Md., campus on Feb. 17, we jumped at the chance.
