Former secretaries of agriculture, HHS team up for new report on nutrition advice

Women who have just given birth need more support to ensure their children are breastfed for at least the first six months of their lives, suggest two former agriculture secretaries and two former health secretaries in a 110-page report released Tuesday morning.It's just one of 25 recommendations contained in Lots to Lose: How America's Health and Obesity Crisis Threatens our Economic Future, published by the Bipartison Policy Center, an organization that includes former agriculture secretaries Dan Glickman and Ann Veneman, and former secretaries for the Department of Health and Human Services, Donna Shalala and Mike Leavitt.
