Some sulphuric acid sellers expressed concern that water supply issues in Chile may negatively impact copper production and therefore sulphuric acid demand. Some companies with Chilean copper mines have said that extremely dry weather has hit production due to restrictions on water consumption. Chilean miners may increasingly have to use seawater desalination plants, driving up costs even as copper prices remain depressed.
