FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. To obtain sulphuric acid, a sulphur-containing source is burnt in a furnace chamber with oxygen. Sulphur dioxide from the furnace chamber undergoes catalytic oxidation to sulphur trioxide. Sulphur trioxide undergoes hydration with water and the formed sulphuric acid is concentrated. A portion of oxygen for burning the sulphur-containing source and oxidation of sulphur dioxide and at least a portion of water for hydration of sulphur dioxide is contained in the furnace gas fed into the furnace chamber and, optionally, to a stream moving from the furnace chamber. ^ EFFECT: invention increases sulphuric acid output. ^ 15 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl
