Unigel raises AS production capacity

BRAZILIAN PETROCHEMICAL group Unigel has completed the expansion of its production units located in Candeias, near the Camacari petrochemical hub in Bahia state in Brazil’s Northeastern region. The ammonium sulphate (AS) production capacity was expanded from 200,000 mt/year to 400,000 mt/year while the methacrylates output was increased from 30,000 mt/year to 90,000 mt/year. Total investment reached R$400 million (US$230 million).
