Vaalco gets Gabon boost

Vaalco Energy has sealed a deal to acquire Sojitz Etame’s 3.23% stake in the Etame Marin permit offshore Gabon. The sale will be effective 1 August and the deal is expected to close within 90 days, subject to customary closing conditions, Vaalco said. Prior to the deal, Vaalco held a 30.35% stake in the fields in the shallow water Etame Marin permit, which covers 116sq km.
