Uganda blocks attract bids

Uganda has short-listed 17 companies, including Tullow Oil, Sasol and PTT, are keen to bid for exploration blocks in the Albertine Graben, where an estimated 6.5 Bn bbl of oil have been made. The list was selected from 19 companies that applied to qualify for the country’s first competitive licensing round. The country will announce the list of companies that qualified by 10 August and expects to issue a request for bids from applicants on 20 August.
