BP and ConocoPhillips have made a “significant oil discovery” on the Gila prospect in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). “This is BP’s third discovery in recent years in the emerging Palaeogene trend in the GoM and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the US offshore region,” said BP.
