Norway's Songa Offshore has landed a new char- ter for its semi-submersible rig Songa Mercur for further work offshore Vietnam. The latest deal for the 1989-built unit is with Japan's Idemitsu Oil & Gas, which has hired the rig for a firm 80-day period at a cost of US $21m, giving a dayrate of $262,500, with an option to extend this to 140 days.
