Statoil profit dips

Norway’s Statoil reported a 6% decline in profit in Q3 due to lower gas production and prices. The operator posted a quarterly net income of US $2.34 Bn, compared to $2.47 Bn for QE 2013. Statoil said this decrease was due to non-recurring items, related tax effects and a higher gain from the sale of assets in 2012.
