Husky hits China gas

Canada's Husky Energy has made a significant gas discovery with the Liuhua 29-1 wildcat in Block 29/26 in the South China Sea, making it the third large find in the region. The operator said the Liuhua 29-1 exploration well tapped "a high quality field" that could produce up to 90 MMcf/d (2.5 MMcm/d). The well was drilled at a water depth of 2,372ft (723m) and hit a gross gas column of 476ft (145m).
