Husky Starts Up Chinese Gas Field

Canadian independent Husky Energy has started production from the Liuhua 29-1 gas field in the eastern South China Sea, which it operates with partner China National Offshore Oil Co. (CNOOC). The field will utilize the existing facilities of the neighboring Liuhua 34-2 and Liwan 3-1 gas fields, and is expected to reach peak gas production of 62 MMcf/d in 2022, CNOOC said (OD Mar.16’20).
