Shell Declares Force Majeure at Nigeria LNG

Royal Dutch Shell said Wednesday it has declared force majeure on natural gas supplies to Nigeria's six-train liquefaction plant on Bonny Island in the restive Niger Delta. The Anglo-Dutch major, which supplies the 22 million ton per year Nigeria LNG (NLNG) plant with gas via several pipelines, has halted shipments through its Eastern Gas Gathering System. It explained that the stoppage was due to a leak on the line, which provides the LNG terminal with the bulk of its gas.
