Oman has deferred some of its contracted LNG exports as demand outpaces supply, particularly during peak summer months. According to the International Gas Union, Oman's LNG exports totaled 7.91 million tons/ yr in 2014, down from 8.63 million tons/yr in 2013, mostly comprising long-term sales contracts with South Korean and Japanese buyers. The sultanate has a 10.4 million ton/yr capacity from three liquefaction trains in Qalhat.
