Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday appointed Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. (NNPC) chief Emmanuel Kachikwu as minister of state for oil, paving the way for reforms in the energy sector and further changes at the top of the national oil company. Buhari, who has appointed himself senior oil minister, will work with Kachikwu to deliver legislation and policies that industry and government hope will put an end to the perennial funding problems faced by NNPC and start to revive production and exploration (IOD Nov.11'15).
