UK-listed Wessex Exploration is poised to purchase a stake in a prospective offshore asset in the Asia-Pacific region that it says would provide enough cash for the firm's drilling obligations and bring with it an experienced board level management team. Wessex said Thursday that it is in advanced talks with the vendors of the company that owns the offshore asset, which management believe is capable of delivering near-term production.
