Zarubezhneft Gets New Head

Sergei Kudryashov, an ally of Rosneft President Igor Sechin, has been appointed general director of state- controlled oil producer Zarubezhneft, replacing Nikolai Brunich. Zarubezhneft, established in 1967 as the state's overseas oil production arm, is active in Vietnam, where it has 49% of the Vietsovpetro joint venture with state Petrovietnam, as well as in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and had planned to start drilling offshore Cuba by the end of 2012. A second joint venture with Petrovietnam, Rusvietpetro, operates oil fields in northern Russia.
