Repsol to Shut Petronor Units

The Repsol YPF-owned Petronor refinery, near Bilbao in northern Spain, has said it is closing its fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) for the whole of January in response to “the drastic fall in [refining] margins in the past three months and the fall in demand throughout the whole of 2011.” It said the month-long closure of the FCC, which makes gasoline, is due to poor demand in the Spanish and US markets.
