Saudi Arabia has confirmed it is in negoti- ations with Washington to buy advanced fighter jets, part of a massive arms purchase by the oil-rich US ally, according to the Saudi Gazette. "Talks are continuing according to the agenda and as part of normal strategic procedure," Prince Khaled Bin Sultan, assis- tant minister of defense and aviation for mil- itary affairs, told reporters.
