Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh made an appearance Thursday night for the first time since being seriously injured in a Jun. 3 attack on his presidential palace. In a prerecorded speech broadcast on state television, Saleh spoke from a hospital in Saudi Arabia, where is he being treated for his injuries. Perhaps more than anything he said, his physical appearance was the most striking about his appearance. Barely recognizable, he sat rigid with bandages fully covering his hands and arms and his face considerably darkened from the burns he sustained in the attack.
