Despite the recent civil unrest in the Mid- dle East and North Africa (Mena) and ongo- ing tensions with Iran, US business leaders remain bullish about the outlook for com- mercial opportunities in the region. At an annual conference for policymakers in Washington last week hosted by the Na- tional Council on US-Arab Relations, busi- ness leaders cited clean energy as an impor- tant area that can help redefine the partner- ship between the US and the Mena region that has long been focused on oil and gas.
