Rosneft Gets New VP

Rosneft has responded quickly to criticism from President Dmitry Medvedev that Russia's state firms have been slow to innovate and are spending too little on cutting-edge technology. The oil giant said on Wednesday that Vladimir Milovidov, who recently stepped down as head of the Federal Service for Financial Markets (FSFM), has been named vice president in charge of innovations and new technologies, a new post established following a Rosneft board meeting on Mar. 25. Milovidov will supervise the day-to-day activities of the company's new department of scientific and technical development and innovations. Milovidov resigned as head of the markets watchdog last month in a move analysts say was linked to a conflict between the FSFM and the finance ministry.
