Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez threatened on Sunday to cut off oil exports to the US as tensions escalate with neighboring Colombia. However many analysts dismissed the threat as mere political rhetoric. “If there was an armed aggression against Venezuela from Colombia or elsewhere, then we would have to grind our teeth and suspend oil shipments to the United States,” Chavez said during a state television broadcast.
