Vehicle repossessions are rising as the result of lenient lending practices before the economic downturn. But those additional vehicles re-entering the marketplace are not dragging down used-vehicle prices, industry experts say. That's because the market overall has fewer used vehicles. New-car sales, which generate trade-ins, are down. And fewer retired rental cars are returning to the market because companies are keeping those cars in their fleets longer.
