Russian potash producer Uralkali attributed its lower firstquarter sales to a cocktail of negative factors, including "intense competition", destocking, falling prices and the delay in agreeing an annual contract with Chinese buyers. First-quarter sales fell to 2.3mnt from 2.5mn t a year earlier. Domestic sales volumes were unchanged at 500,000t, while exports dipped by 10pc to 1.8mn t.
