Dry bulk freight rates rose today from a multi-decade low as activity in Asia shows signs of picking up after the lunar new year holiday. The Baltic Exchange's main dry bulk index fell to 647 last week, the lowest level since the mid-1980s, before posting its first daily gain since early December yesterday and then rising to 660 today.
