Deacero gears up for rod case hearing

Deacero SAPI de CV is gearing up for fresh litigation over U.S. duties against 4.75-millimeter steel wire rod from Mexico. Despite a favorable ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade in December, which determined that 4.75-millimeter wire rod from Mexico should not be subject to anti-dumping duties (amm.com, Dec. 23), the U.S. Commerce Department subsequently said the 12.08-percent duty would remain in place until U.S. steelmakers or the Commerce Department exhaust their opportunities for appeal (amm.com, Jan. 22).
