Trade case targets iron parts from Canada, China

TB Wood's Inc. has filed a trade petition against imports of iron mechanical transfer drive components from Canada and China with the U.S. Department of Commerce.The drive transmission components maker is requesting an investigation into possible dumped imports from Canada and alleged dumped and subsidized imports from China. The petition comes "in response to a steady increase in imports, coupled with price erosion, which in turn has materially injured the domestic industry," according to Washington-based law firm Wiley Rein LLC, which is representing the company.
