The US Surface Transportation Board will hold a public hearing on the methodology used in its annual revenue adequacy findings for the major Class I railroads and is seeking public comment in advance of the hearing, the board said Wednesday. The board said in a statement that while it has made periodic adjustments to the methodology, “both the structure of the rail industry and the flow of commerce have continued to change substantially” over the last decade.
