The week under review witnessed sharp uptrend in the price of melamine. Thiourea, borax and boric acid also firmed up, while caustic potash and vinyl acetate moved downwards. Caustic soda flakes ruled Rs. 0.85 lower at Rs. 34.75 (basic) for bulk, while Caustic soda lye was up by Re. 1 at Rs. 32 (basic). Caustic potash ruled Rs. 3 lower at Rs. 60 (basic), while imported material ruled at Rs. 59-60 (basic) for bulk. Ethylene dichloride was up by Rs. 0.50 at Rs. 19.50 (basic) in bulk. Potassium carbonate (imported) in powder fonn ruled at Rs. 86 (basic) for bulk, while granules ruled at Rs. 79 (basic).
