The Chamber of Indian Trade & Industry has sought the government's intervention to ensure public sector units (PSUs) comply with the mandatory norms of procuring 20% of their products and services requirements from micro and small enterprises. In letters addressed to Mr. Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution for publication, the Association's Executive Director, Dr. Y.R. Singh quoted a recent news report, which said only 32 out of 146 PSUs have complied with the mandatory procurement norms. He urged a review of government procurement policy to help growth of the MSME sector.
