Wacker doubles VAE dispersions capacity at South Korean facility

Germany's Wacker Chemie has launched its new production plant for vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer (VAE) dispersions at its Ulsan site in South Korea. The additional 40,000-tpa from the second reactor line increases the site's VAE-dispersion capacity to a total of 90,000-tpa, making the plant complex one of the biggest of its kind in South Korea. Having invested around ?10-mn in the expansion project, Wacker said it is strengthening its position as one of the world's major suppliers of VAE dispersions.
