Novozymes Biopharma to invest in new plant for hyaluronic acid in China

Novozymes Biopharma, part of the Novozymes group headquartered in Denmark, is stepping up its manufacturing capacity for hyaluronic acid (HA), by building a new plant in Tianjin (China), which is slated to come on stream Q1, 2011. The company currently operates a fa-cility for HA, using its proprietary technology, in Denmark, but grow-ing demand for the biochemical, including from the Asian region, has prompted the need for a second facility.
