Indian pharma industry aims high; Government assures support to make it a global drug innovation hub by 2020

The US$20-bn Indian pharmaceutical industry has been growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 9 per cent and is likely to grow to US$ 50-bn by 2015, according to key Government officials who spoke at the recently concluded India Pharma Summit 2009, jointly organised by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and UBM India.
