DAK acquires control of PET maker Selenis Canada

DAK Americas (Charlotte, North Carolina), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpek SAB de CV (Monterrey, Mexico), has acquired Imatosgil Group's (IMG Group; Lisbon, Portugal) controlling stake in Selenis Canada Inc. (Montreal), DAK has announced. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The transaction has been approved by the Canadian Competition Bureau. DAK Americas comprises five business units: polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyesters staple fibers, purified terephthalic acid (PTA), specialty polymers, and green polyester.
