EU okays Ineos-Solvay chlorvinyls JV

The European Commission has approved the proposed merger of the European chlorvinyls businesses of Ineos and Solvay, subject to the divestment by Ineos of suspension polyvinyl chloride (S-PVC) assets in France, Germany, and the Netherlands; ethylene dichloride (EDC) plants in Belgium and the United Kingdom; and vinyI chloride monomer (VCM) and chlor-alkali units in Belgium.
