Hanwha Acquires Sabic-PPG Joint Venture

Hanwha Chemical(Seoul)has acquired Azdel(Lynchburg,VA),a 50-50 joint venture of Sabic Innovative Plastics and PPG Industries.Terms were not disclosed.Azdel manufactures high-performance thermoplastic composites for automotive and other industrial markets.GE and PPG formed the jv in 1986,and Sabic acquired GE's stake through its 11.6-billion acquisition of GE Plastics in September(CW,Sept.5/72,p.8).
