Despite the surge in crude costs,naphtha prices only rose about 2%-3%.Spot numbers went higher by about 9 cts/gal on the U.S.Gulf Coast and 15/m.t.in northwest Europe.In the U.S.,ethane lost 3 cts/gal while propane gained 4 cts/gal.U.S.spot ethylene prices continued a downward slide on weak demand,trading in a range of 50 cts-51.5 cts/lb.U.S.spot butadiene prices continued to surge,breaking the l/lb mark.Several producers are on allocation as crackers continue to crack light feeds,sources say.In Europe,lighter olefins moved nominally higher,with ethylene and propylene gaining a scant euro 10/m.t.European spot butadiene prices leapt more than 100/m.t.in response to the soaring U.S.prices.
