BCI calls for scheme to make Pb-A and Li-ion recycling safer

While recycling lead-acid batteries remains safe it can only remain so if a method for identifying lithium-ion batteries is introduced to the industry. The need for such measures are urgent and paramount if further fires and explosions at secondary lead smelters are to be avoided, Battery Council International's (BCI) annual conference was told.
