Outline and Future Research Vision of ENRI - Special Tutorial Session on Air Traffic Management Systems

This paper introduces an outline of the Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI) and the renewed future long-term research vision of ENRI. ENRI, established in 1967, is the only national organization conducting research related to electronic navigation in Japan, and it has been contributing to air traffic safety, sophistication, and efficiency improvement through research, development and evaluation of the technologies of aeronautical navigation and air traffic management (ATM). ENRI's long-term research vision which was established to exhibit the research and development road map for advance ATM operation for fifteen years into the future was created in July 2008, and it was revised in March 2011. The third version of the long-term research vision of ENRI is being reviewed now.
