摘要

The Board of Education of the City of Sapporo decides public elementary school districts, requiring children to attend an elementary school designated according to their zoning. This does not mean, however, that all students can attend the elementary school nearest to their homes. This report examines school district zoning by the Board of Education, by comparing these districts with those created by a geometric pattem, called a Voronoi diagram, with elementary schools as generators.
