Under Integrating the Collaborative environment's (ICE) framework with the collaborative product development (CPD) conception, these heterogeneous systems, i.e. analysis software of classification societies, computer-aided engineering and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems, Supply Chain Management system (SCMs) and Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERPs) etc. distributed in different units, have been more and more inevitable to extend toward integration in shipbuilding; the synergy of integration is not only to streamline the ship design, material procurement, production control and construction process, but also to further meliorate the productivity and relevant products. To achieve this objective, ERPs has to enable rapidly and correctly to extract the relevant information from the upstream CAD/CAM system; by STandard for Exchange of Product model data (STEP) as the manufacturing standard and the exchange data in the design department, and by Extensible Markup Language (XML) transmitting the exchange data to integrate the information systems in the design, material, production control departments etc., and therefore to increase the efficiency of data transmission, reduce the limit on heterogeneous operation systems, which can further integrate Shipyards' inter- and exterior environment and the jumbled construction in the up- and down- streams. This paper describes the current implementation portion under the synchronized collaborative environment concept, and establishes the future integration plan for shipbuilding.
